How to take the photos (about 30 seconds)
- Put your hand flat on a table, on a plain, light background.
- Place one of these next to your nails, flat on the same surface: a Japanese coin, a US quarter (25¢), or a credit card. We use it to work out the real size.
- Shoot straight from above, in bright daylight if you can.
- Take 4 photos in total: both hands, and each thumb on its own.
Bare nails are best. If your nails are painted, that is still fine.
